Thread veins – or spider veins – are damaged veins and capillaries just below the skin.
As you age, your skin loses collagen and becomes thinner, so when veins expand, they become visible through your skin. Prominent thread veins can be inherited, but they are often caused by long term sun exposure, pregnancy, rosacea, steroid creams, alcohol, smoking and standing for long periods.
Thread veins on the face and legs can be unsightly and make you feel very self-conscious.

How does it work?
IPL emits filtered broadband light to target absorption peaks in haemoglobin and oxy-haemoglobin.
In addition, the multiple pulsing facility with variable interpulse spacing, allows the selection of appropriate parameters to treat vessels of different sizes and at different depths. In this way, the 585plus handpiece predominantly targets blood vessels, delivering sufficient energy to thermo-coagulate the entire vessel whilst causing minimal damage to the surrounding skin.
Following treatment, the damaged vessels are absorbed by the body and little or no trace of the initial lesion remains.
